From Morgan Creek to Roanoke River

Flying up to NYC this morning, reading the New York Times, what fun to see Misty Franklin's name and picture. She's North Carolina's state botanist (did you know we had one?), and she was leading a canoe trip through eastern Carolina swampland. I remember Misty when she was merely working at the North Carolina Botanical Garden helping us keep a lookout on Morgan Creek. Nice going, Misty.
