Ruby Bridges

Ruby Bridges has a place in history for her courage in integrating a New Orleans public school in 1960 all by herself. If you're my age more or less, you might remember Robert Coles' sensitive and perceptive treatment of her story as part of his work on the moral lives of children.

Today, Ruby Bridges is back in New Orleans hoping to rebuild--and to integrate, again--the very school that she attended under protection of federal marshals.

Jonathan Tilove has the story.
