DC Metro trades gentility for "attitude"

Sandy Carroll has been the voice of the D.C. Metro for a decade. Some riders say "her voice makes them think good thoughts." But Metrorail officials have other thoughts:

Moving away from a kinder, gentler era, Metro opened the new year with a contest for a more authoritative - even cheekier - voice of the subway.
